Prajwal Parajuly

Prajwal Parajuly—the son of a Nepali-Indian father and a Nepali mother—is the author of The Gurkha’s Daughter and Land Where I Flee. The Gurkha's Daughter, his collection of short stories, was a finalist for the Dylan Thomas Prize in the UK and a semi-finalist for the Story Prize in the US. Land Where I Flee, his first novel, was a finalist for the Emile Guimet Prize and the First Novel Prize in France. It was also declared a Book of the Year by The Independent, The Kansas City Star and The Hindustan Times, among several other publications. Prajwal has been the Clayton B Ofstad endowed distinguished writer-in-residence at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and was on the jury of the Dylan Thomas Prize in 2018 and 2023. He recently finished a teaching stint at Sciences Po in Paris.
