Vihanga Perera is a poet, novelist and a Professor of Literature at a public university in Sri
Lanka. His recent publications include Students And Rebels and Bodies In Art, both works of
historically-informed fiction. Perera is the recipient of several national awards for his work
including the State Literary Prize (2015 and 2023) and the Gratiaen Prize (2014).
