Shrayana Bhattacharya is the author of the bestselling Desperately Seeking Shah Rukh: India’s Lonely Young Women and the Search for Intimacy and Independence. Shrayana’s work maps the economic and personal trajectories of Indian women – divided by class but united in their search for independence and intimacy, and reclaiming their desire. She has won several prizes for best non-fiction book including the Times of India AutHer Prize (2022), SKOCH Economic Forum Prize for Literature, and the Atta Galatta Bangalore Literature Festival Award (2022).
